The R&D wing of TANGEDCO carries out several important Research Studies in the Power Sector that are beneficial not only to improve its own Operation & Maintenance but for all utilities engaged in Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution. Many of the Research studies are fully funded by the Ministry of Power / Government of India. The study Completion Reports with conclusions and recommendations are available with TANGEDCO /R&D and with the RSOP study co-ordinating agency CPRI / Bangalore.

Research Projects

  • 1. TANII – Projects:
    • (a). Retro filling of distribution class transformers with bio- degradable non flammable synthetic ester oil.
    • (b). Transformer Insulation preservation using Innovative External Bellows
  • 2. RSoP-Project:
    • Dielectric diagnosis of EHV bushings using Frequency Domain Spectroscopy(FDS) including cause identification for abnormal conditions of the bushing.
